Seventeen years in the making, Melanie Marden’s documentary Save Your Life will hold its world premiere at Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theatre on January 11, 2027

The film follows one daughter’s search for answers after cancer took her family. It begins streaming worldwide at saveyourlifemovie.com the following morning.

LOS ANGELES (October 13, 2026). In 2008, Melanie Marden lost her mother to brain cancer. She was working as an actor in Hollywood at the time, and she found she could not go back to it, because she could not stop asking questions. Seventeen years later, those questions have become Save Your Life, a feature documentary that will hold its world premiere at the TCL Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard on Monday, January 11, 2027, at 7 p.m.

The film follows a daughter, the sole survivor of a family devastated by cancer, on a journey around the world in search of answers. Across seventeen years, Marden sat down with doctors, researchers and scientists in clinics and laboratories across the world, and with survivors and families whose experiences challenge conventional thinking. Some of those conversations lasted an afternoon. Some turned into years of correspondence. Footage from that first stretch is still in the film.

“I never planned to make a documentary,” Marden said. “I planned to find something out. The film is what happened while I was looking.”

For most of its production the film carried a different title, Cure This, a name Marden says came from anger. She changed it once she understood who the film was for: someone sitting outside a hospital with a diagnosis they received twenty minutes earlier, a phone in their hand and no idea what to search for. Save Your Life, she has written, is “the more honest title, because it says who the film is for rather than who it’s against.”

The premiere returns Marden to the town she left to make it. “To bring the film back to Hollywood Boulevard, to that building of all buildings, is not something I could have predicted in 2008,” she said, “and I’m not going to pretend to be casual about it.”

Premiere tickets are on sale now through Eventbrite, at $88 for VIP and $44 for general admission, with details at saveyourlifemovie.com/premiere. Through December 1, 2026, anyone can also enter to win two general-admission seats, no purchase necessary.

The morning after the premiere, on January 12, 2027, Save Your Life begins streaming worldwide at saveyourlifemovie.com, on any screen. Pre-orders are open now: the film to own is $22.22 until the premiere and $29.99 after it. The Save Your Life Kit, $77.77 until the premiere and $99.99 after, adds the extended interviews that did not fit the final cut, the audiobook of Marden’s book read by Marden herself, all the modalities of healing she researched, and a month of membership in the Save Your Life community, which opens on January 12.

Churches, clinics, campuses, support groups and towns can license the film for their own community screenings, from $444, at saveyourlifemovie.com/screening. Confirmed screenings can appear on the film’s public screening map.

Marden’s companion book, Save Your Life: The Ultimate Guide to the True History of Cancer and How to Ignite Your Own Healing Powers, is available now as an audiobook, narrated by the author.
